Dahlia Books is primarily a short story publisher and we’re only accepting proposals for short fiction and short stories when presented as a collection from UK based writers in this current round.
Send us a cover letter, an outline and your completed manuscript in a single document. Your word count must be under 40k words. Flash fiction collections should be under 12k words.
We are particularly keen on publishing diverse voices and actively encourage submissions from first-time writers. Your short story collection must be finished before you send it to us. Please do not send us single short stories for publication.
Do not use AI in generating any of your creative work, in your letter or pitch. This includes editing or proofreading tools. AI slop is rife and easily detectable.
