This is a unique collection of flash fiction, writing prompts, and interviews by and about talented writers of South Asian heritage.
The stories range from math problems to the moon, from food to families, and everything that makes people want to share part of themselves.
This anthology, funded by the RSL Literature Matters Awards, is inspired by the hope that more burgeoning writers realise that their words are important.

Susmita Bhattacharya’s debut novel, The Normal State of Mind (Parthian 2015) was long-listed at the Mumbai Film Festival. Table Manners (Dahlia Books) won the Saboteur Award for Best Short Story Collection in 2019 and was serialised on BBC Radio 4 Extra. She is the co-founder of the Write Beyond Borders Mentoring Project. If she didn’t tell you, you’d never know she was the face for many of the top print ad campaigns in India (that is, until the supermodel took her place in front of the camera. Anita Goveas is British-Asian, London-based, and fuelled by strong coffee and paneer jalfrezi. She was first published in the 2016 London Short Story Prize anthology, and her debut flash collection, Families and Other Natural Disasters, is available from Reflex Press, and links to her stories are at coffeeandpaneer.wordpress.com. If she didn’t tell you, you wouldn’t know that she had her vows renewed by Elvis.
Farhana Khalique is a writer, editor, voice over artist, teacher and PhD student from south-west London, UK. Her writing has appeared in Flash Fiction Festival Six, Tales from the City, Best Small Fictions and more. She’s also judged the Oxford Flash Fiction Prize and she’s a submissions editor at SmokeLong Quarterly. You can find her online @HanaKhalique and farhanakhalique.com.
